The WalletMonitor team has expanded the functionality of the system – now you have the opportunity to use product monitoring regardless of what platform you sell your dropshipping products on.
Let’s talk in more detail about how it works, and in what cases it may be useful.
Previously use of WalletMonitor was limited enough: you definitely needed to have an Ebay seller account. You connect this account to the wallet monitor, synchronization take place, and after that it is possible to list products using from Amazon or other sources as a basis. Then you may use monitoring to control price changes and product availability.
All this was not available if you did not have an eBay seller account, and you conduct your seller activities using other tools. For example, when you have your own online store, or you use the services of some kind of marketplace.
For such and many other cases, we have developed a universal solution: use of Google Sheets as an intermediate link between your trading tool and WalletMonitor.
Now let’s see how to use this tool.
It all starts with you allowing WalletMonitor to create and edit sheets files on your google drive. After receiving your permission, WalletMonitor will create a new sheet file with the given structure. From this file, WalletMonitor will take information about which products need to be monitored and will also record changes related to these products (price, availability) into it. Perhaps you already have ready-made sheets file with products list in them and would like to include this already completed file. We considered this option, but we had to abandon it because google has only two types of permission to access files on your drive: either only those created through our program, or all files in general. Unfortunately, there is no way to access only one specific file (there is no analogue to share a specific file with everyone who has a link). Having access to all your files for the sake of accessing one is too much of a subordination and too much of a responsibility. So we create new file and have access only to this file on you google drive.
Let’s get back to working with the file. The file is divided into two parts: “Provided by Customer” and “WM Operational columns”. The first part, as the name suggests, is for you to fill. WalletMonitor requires one field from you: URL – the URL of the product source. For example, https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Enameled-Covered-Dutch-4-3-Quart/dp/B07B4ZFC8S, if as a source for dropshipping you are using is Amazon.
Having the url, WalletMonitor makes a record of this product in the database and then starts monitoring the product. The data obtained because of the monitoring activity is recorded in the “WM Operational Columns”. Only the system should write to this part of the file, but you, as the user, should refrain from editing this column in order to avoid data corruption and to prevent system disruption.
Connecting a file to WalletMonitor consists of a simple sequence of actions: granting permission to WalletMonitor to create and edit created files on your Google Drive →
WalletMonitor creates the file → You fill in the user part of the file → Monitoring and updating of product data has begun.
When after some time you have added more products to your online store (or other trading tool), just add records about these products to the sheet file, WalletMonitor will also load them into its database and start monitoring. If you delete a product line from the file, the record about it will be deleted from the WalletMonitor database.
When the system detects changes in the price or availability of goods at the source during the monitoring process, these changes will be displayed in the file. Such changes will be immediately noticeable to you, as the cell with the changed value will be highlighted in color. The time of the change will also be noted. Thus, you can easily notice changes in product parameters and make changes to your online store.
It should be noted that this module of the system also fully supports multi-variable products. For example, if the product whose URL you specified has variations, they will be loaded by WalletMonitor and added to the file as children of this product.
For multi-variant products, you need to add the URL of only the container product to the file, but not the URL of each individual variant.
Detailed User Guide:
1. You should have activated WalletMonitor account.
2. To give Google Sheets permission for WalletMonitor to create/edit files:
b) Click «ADD PLATFORM LOGIN» and select «Google Sheets» in «Select platform» field.
c) Enter any name you like for file that will be created and click «Continue»
d) In newly opened tab enter your Google account if required.
e) In next dialog answer «Allow» quectiaon about access to your Google Drive
3. Now you see new sheets file created and opened. Take a look at column structure.
4. Get your products and start filling file. You should fill only two «Provided by Customer» columns. In «Product» column you may fill any value that helps you to recognize and link it on your online store (or other selling instrument). For example, fill it with product name or product id or url of this product on your online store.
Column fill should be filled with URL of this product on its` source, for example: https://www.amazon.com/Travelers-Club-Luggage-Hardside-Expandable/dp/B0787DL55W/, if you dropship this product from Amazon.
5. In this manner fill sheets file, one line for each product with one source url
6. To prevent data corruption and system fails, do not fill columns marked from «WM Operational Columns» part of file.
7. After file filling you may just leave it and WalletMonitor will handle file changes after some time, or manually force it to handle file changes.
8. WalletMonitor reads file and loads new products to its` database. You can notice what file is handled by «WMID» column: when product handled it will be filled with some value. Please, do not change this value, it is used to link product in sheets file to product`s database entry.
9. WalletMonitor fills «Price» and «State» columns. «Price» is a number with two decimal places — it is product`s price on source. «State» marks product availability on source, possible values: [Available, No offers, N/A]. «No offers» means that product is found on source, but it is not available for purcase for the moment, or it does not corresponds to some requirements (for example, only used available, or delivery will be too long). «N/A» means that url is not available. Please, notice product may have «N/A» status for some short time after it was added to file but is not fully handled by WalletMonitor yet. But if it has this status for a long time it means that means that WalletMonitor did not found this product on source, and will not found. Check if url of this product is correct, if it is, and you see that product is on source and available — please, make our support team know about this.
«Update Date» column contains last time when product parameters change was detected.
11. WalletMonitor periodically checks product parameters, if price or state changed,
you will see this change in file. Changed value cell and change is highlighted with color.
12. You will see «Synchronization» notification in file header when WalletMonitor synchronizes the file. Please, do not make changes in file when it is under synchronization.
13. When you see changed value, you can make corrections in your online store (or other selling instrument) and remove color highlight.
14. You can add products later any time same as you did initially. It is recommended to add new product entries consequentially after last product line. It is not recommended to move handled product entries upper or down.
15. You can remove product from file by deleting its` whole line. WalletMonitor will delete this prodcut from its` database and stop monitoring it.
16.When you entered URL of multivariant product WalletMonitor will load all its` variants and insert them into file right after product URL line in collapsible group. Each variant entry is handled in the same way as single-variant products.
